Swedish massage is used to improve circulation and ease muscle aches and tension. The technique involves the use of a number of strokes and hand movements including long, gliding strokes, muscle kneading, ‘hacking’ of tapping various parts of the body with the hand, and muscle vibration.

Swedish massage incorporates long, firm strokes with gentle tapping. In this manner, what are known as ‘long muscles’ i.e., muscles in the legs, back etc, are stimulated on a large area, increasing blood circulation and helping to limber stiff joints and relieve feelings of stress. In addition to using these various hand movements, the practitioner uses special “massage oils” and lotions to decrease friction and give a more pleasurable effect. Strokes known as ‘pressure strokes’ are used to ‘heat’ up the body areas being massaged.

1 Hour Couple's Massage $120

Deep tissue massage targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. The massage therapist uses slower strokes or friction techniques across the grain of the muscle.

 

Deep tissue massage is used for chronically tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems, or recovery from injury.  People often feel sore for one to two days after deep tissue massage.

30 Minute Sports Massage $35

Sports massage is specifically designed for people who are involved in physical activity. But you don't have to be a professional athlete to have one-it's also used by people who are active and work out often. The focus isn't on relaxation but on preventing and treating injury and enhancing athletic performance.

A combination of techniques are used. The strokes are generally faster than Swedish massage. Facilitated stretching is a common technique. It helps to loosen muscles and increase flexibility.

Hot Stone Massage

A hot stone massage is a massage technique which uses heated stones and applies them on various parts of your body, like on your spine, palm, belly and others.  Basalt stones of various shapes and sizes are used in hot stone massage.   The warm stones expand the blood vessels, allowing for transportation and elimination of unwanted toxins from the body through the liver and kidneys. By improving lymph and blood flow, it allows cells in the body to receive more oxygen and nutrients.

 

A hot stone massage primarily helps in easing and de-stressing your stressed and strained muscles.  It improves the blood circulation and flow of energy in your body to help alleviate various kinds of pains and problems.
